Time to Update Passwords

It’s good practice to update you passwords every month, but realistically, most people rarely update their passwords unless it becomes necessary. Make it a habit of updating your password at the very least, once a year. I use a strong password generator to help me find random passwords to use and I update them on a list I keep safe, just in case I forget them.

There are web applications like Last Pass that can be useful in helping you to manage passwords, quickly, easily and conveniently. You even further protect your Last Pass account by using Sesame to turn a USB flash drive into a kind of key that you will need to have in order to access your Last Pass account.

(Just a quick note, you’ll need to have a premium account on Last Pass to use this feature.)

And as an added reminder, also try to make it a habit to log out of your accounts when you are done with them, especially when you are using a device other than your own to access your account. Piggy-backing happens a lot more than people care to admit, and is one of the most preventable security breeches that occur.
