How to find out your current usage.
Your current mailbox usage is on the bottom left of your webmail inbox.
To ensure that your email continues to work at maximum efficiency please take the following steps to clear up some room in your account.
1. Go to http://webmail.lava.net
2. Click on “Trash” in the left column of the screen
3. Either select all messages by clicking the check box directly above the messages with the down-arrow next to it, or you may filter through all the deleted mail and select only what you wish to delete.
4. Click the “Delete Forever” button.

The city of Honolulu and IBM are transforming how citizens interact with government. By providing transparent and secure access to city data, Honolulu supports services in a cloud. This enables citizens to create exciting new services themselves which fosters greater civic engagement and encourages dialog between government and the public.
Connecting people to data
Although Honolulu had successfully overhauled its infrastructure, this was only the starting point for another major project. When the city underwent a change in political leadership, the then elected mayor, Peter Carlisle, shifted focus toward improving government transparency. Gordon Bruce took note of the mayor’s goal: “The mayor was behind transparency from the beginning. He wanted to make real data available to citizens—data they could actually use.”
In addition, the city wanted to increase citizen participation in government and improve efficiency, but achieving each of these goals would require new approaches to take full advantage of Honolulu’s new IT systems.
notable applications available to Honolulu citizens include:
· Honolulu Tsunami Evacuation Zones: Provides information and maps on tsunami evacuation zones
· DaBus: Provides exact, real-time bus locations and estimated wait times for riders
· Adopt-a-Siren: Enables citizens to adopt tsunami sirens in their neighborhoods, checking to ensure siren functionality and reporting this information to the city
· Kokua: Provides real-time traffic report information for Honolulu
· Festivals of Hawaii: Provides information on events such as film, music, and food and wine festivals
· Honolulu Map and Walking Tours: Provides maps and self-guided walking tours of the city
Providing an IT solution to support custom applications like these introduced a new level of citizen involvement for Honolulu. The city also learned a valuable lesson and a benefit to using its cloud environment. Instead of relying on city employees to create applications, which often required excessive time and effort to complete, the city could put unfinished applications into the cloud and enable citizens to help with development. Delivering new services with numerous benefits to the community, Honolulu’s solution helped the city to provide previously closed information to its citizens. This provided more transparency and helped to improve citizen participation in government. With its new cloud environment, Honolulu empowered the general public to create citizen-centric applications with access to years’ worth of city data. The city’s new work order system also employed citizens to report problems and improved the city’s efficiency for performing repairs. These innovative measures enabled the community to take full advantage of Honolulu’s IT systems and the city’s data.

When Bad Things Happen, Simply Reboot!
Faronics’ Deep Freeze is an application that, as the name implies, “freezes” your system so that any changes that are made are never permanent. If the system becomes unstable for any reason, say a virus or perhaps a driver misconfiguration, simply reboot! Within seconds, Deep Freeze will restore the system to the state it was in when last frozen. Just like magic, everything that had been done since then becomes undone and you are back up and running in no time.
Once installed, Deep Freeze has two states, “thawed” and “frozen.” As you might have guessed, when thawed you configure your system precisely the way you want it to be restored. When frozen, the system will then be restored to that state on the next reboot. You can freeze and thaw as needed to update the system with any changes you’d like to keep.
Customized configuration makes setting up Faronics Deep Freeze for your unique environment a breeze. Using the Deep Freeze Configuration Administrator, you can specify multiple passwords, select drives to be Frozen, create ThawSpaces to save data, create workstation tasks, schedule maintenance and set advanced networks. You can also create multiple customized installers with different configurations.
• Deep Freeze is supported on:
— XP, Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8
— Deep Freeze requires 10% of the hard drive to be left as free space
— Both 32 and 64 bit versions of Windows are supported
— Windows XP x64 must have Service Pack 2 or later installed
• Faronics recommends a minimum of 256 MB of system memory in the protected systems
• The Deep Freeze Configuration Administrator and Enterprise Console are supported on:
— XP, Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Server 2003, 2008 and 2012
— 32 and 64 bit versions are supported
